Napoleon the Wilderness is a bedroom pop artist based in St. Petersburg, Florida. Lead-singer/songwriter, Nikhil Johns attributes the catchy sound to a variety of influences including artists like Vance Joy, Ben Rector and Matt Kearney. New EP comes out early 2021.
Good Vibes is a satirical song about toxic positivity. It was inspired out of frustration with people (particularly on social media) claiming that “happiness is just a mindset” and inadvertently blaming anyone who isn’t happy on their lack of blind optimism. Especially given the current state of the world, it should be completely acceptable to not feel okay. Long-time collaborator and indie-pop artist, Nicholas Roberts helped out with the production of the track. Napoleon the Wilderness will be donating 50% of all proceeds from song sales and streams to the Black Mental Health Alliance.
