Samantha on her new song :
I am so excited to share my single “90 years” with the world. This song is very near and dear to my heart because I wrote this song for, and about my Grandmother. This year my Grandma turned 90 and we were supposed to throw her a big party, but unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we had to cancel. So my brother and I were brainstorming on what we could do to make her 90th birthday special, and then it hit us. WRITE A SONG. The inspiration was not lacking, and we ended up writing, recording, and releasing this song within a month! To give some background and to understand the context of this single, I’ll tell you a little bit about my Grandma and what she has fought through. Joanna Loepp was born on July 1st, 1930. She raised 6 beautiful children, 3 boys, and 3 girls. She was faced with every hardship and obstacle you can imagine. She lost her husband to cancer when her youngest was only 5 years old. She had a heart attack and a double bypass open-heart surgery. She lost her son at age 44 to a heart attack. She was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and then beat it. Then, 3 years ago at age 87, she suffered a terrible accident where a shelf fell on top of her, shattering her hip and fracturing her face in 5 places. No one thought she would make it through that, but here she is still dancing around at age 90! She is the strongest woman I know and has taught me so much about strength and courage. I think anyone who has a strong female figure in their life, will be able to relate to this song. It is definitely a tear-jerker, so grab some tissues and take a listen.
